Wandering Workshops is based in Aviemore, in the Cairngorms National Park.
Our outdoor sports adventure workshops are aimed at making the outdoor action sport space more accessible. The workshops are designed by women and lead by women where possible but are open to everyone.

The snow sports workshops are aimed at people with intermediate level skills and for the summer workshops, a good general fitness and passion for outdoor sports is required.

Over the days, the group will learn the basics of route planning, navigation and safety in the outdoors, be part of the adventure planning process and experience two different adventure routes. Over the days, the group will learn the basics of route planning, navigation and safety in the outdoors, be part of the adventure planning process and experience two different adventure routes. Photography coaching happens throughout the workshops plus yoga, meditation and sense-making sessions are offered daily. A shared meaning-making and storytelling session will bring the workshop to a close on the final evening.

Your hosts will be three times Olympian snowboarder, SSS/BASI ISTD ski and snowboard coach/instructor/snowsportML and yoga teacher, Lesley McKenna and professional photographer, and outdoor sports journalist, Hannah Bailey. Hannah and Lesley are joined by partner guides for each sport offered.

Through expert coaching both in the sports and in photography and story/meaning-making, each person will create a memorable visual tale of their adventure and shared experiences. The insights gained through collaborative, embodied connection in the awe-inspring natural environment have the potential to be life changing in a very positive way.

Wandering Workshops include a basic introduction in to avalanche awareness and safety, including how to use the avalanche safety gear. But we recommend further training in this area through:
